This culinary school offers different tours for the travelers who enjoy tasting the local cuisine it was founded by Chef D. Sterling and it is well recognized cooking school in Merida. But let's take a step back, who is Chef David Sterling? He was born in Oklahoma, in the South western culinary environment. As an undergraduate, Sterling holds a Master of Fine Arts in design from Cranbrook Academy of Art in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. During the two year program, Sterling also worked as a pantry chef at the highly acclaimed French restaurant Le Bijou, in the nearby Detroit suburb of Southfield. In 2003 Sterling moves to Merida to found Los Dos cooking school.
The different cooking tours that the school provides takes you to the market to learn about the different ingredients used in the traditional Yucatecan cuisine, there is also a cantina bar tour, street eats and other special tours that are available depending on the time of the year, like the Day of the Dead special tour that happens only in December.
