Located in the heart of the city, this contemporary and modern art museum receives 72000 visitors in a year. You can easily spot this museum that is right next to the Cathedral in downtown, there is a big hall with different sculptures and that is where you can find the entrance to the museum. Entrance is for free.
The Macay is very big and it has 15 different galleries for temporal exhibits. There you will find paintings, sculptures and art installations from Mexican and international artist. There are also two galleries and four permanent exhibition rooms, where the work of the three great figures of Yucatecan plastic art is showing: Fernando Castro Pacheco, Fernando García Ponce and Gabriel Ramírez Aznar.
The Macay often features different cultural events with music, dancing and different exhibitions; you can get all the information for these events on the reception desk. Most of these events are for free.
