  • Learn about the ancient Mayan city of Tulum on a one-hour guided tour
  • Wander around the ruins or swim in the ocean next to the historic site
  • Shop for authentic souvenirs of Tulum

Tulum is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Mexico for good reason: this Mayan walled city is situated on magnificent cliffs facing the Caribbean. This four-hour tour includes hotel pick-up and drop-off in an air-conditioned vehicle from Cancun, Playa del Carmen or Riviera Maya. Your guide reveals the history and archeology of this pre-Columbian wonder, then you're free to wander around, swim or shop before heading back to your hotel.  You will be picked in the morning (beginning at 12:00 PM) from your hotel and driven down to the coast to Tulum, one of Mexico's archaeological wonders. One of Tulum's greatest features is its location. Unlike most pre-Columbian walled cities, Tulum is situated on 39-foot-high (12-meter) cliffs facing the Caribbean Sea. The combination of well-preserved Mayan temples and the oceanfront view makes for a spectacular location.  During your guided one-hour tour through the Mayan buildings of this walled city, you'll learn how Tulum inhabitants were responsible for trade into other settlements in the Yucatan Peninsula, such as Coba and Chichen Itza. Archaeologists have found items that also suggest commercial bonds between Tulum and other pre-Hispanic cities in what is now Central and South America. After your tour, take another hour to stroll the grounds, swim in the sea, or shop for souvenirs before hopping back into your air-conditioned vehicle for your return trip.
